In the same media session, Tinubu also addressed the fight against corruption. He argued that corruption harms the people and emphasized the importance of addressing its root causes. The President highlighted that his administration’s decision to raise the minimum wage to ₦70,000 was a measure aimed at reducing corruption by improving the welfare of Nigerians.

He explained, “Corruption in all its forms is harmful to the people, but first, pay attention to the causes. Why are people corrupt? The lack of social amenities, the lack of funds, and children’s education…” He added that anti-corruption efforts must include measures that support citizens’ basic needs, with a focus on fair wages and transparent governance.
