Federal Government Unveils Modernized Facilities At Lagos Airport To Improve Passenger Experience

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, inaugurated the e-gate on Friday, highlighting its role in enhancing passenger comfort and security. He emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure.
Keyamo explained that the e-gate project, funded through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), aims to streamline passenger processing while improving airport security.
Along with the e-gates, Keyamo and FAAN officials also unveiled four newly acquired Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered airport transit buses. These eco-friendly buses, designed with features to assist persons with disabilities, reflect Nigeria’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and meet global climate targets.
The minister underscored that these developments signify major progress in Nigeria’s aviation sector and reiterated the value of public-private collaborations in driving the industry forward.

In his inaugural address, Aina acknowledged the foundation laid by his predecessor—who is widely credited with modernizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)—and vowed to expand on those achievements.
