FCT Minister Presents 50 New Vehicles To Boost Security Efforts In Abuja

Wike made the call while presenting 50 new operational vehicles to the security forces to bolster efforts in combating insecurity in the capital.
He emphasized the priority of security, reaffirming the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the city.
“We cannot allow criminals space to act. We must take the fight to them and show we are serious,” Wike said, urging security agencies to maintain vigilance, particularly during the festive season.
Additionally, Wike revealed that 12 new police divisions are under construction across the six Area Councils of the FCT, as requested by the FCT Police Commissioner. He also urged residents to collaborate with authorities by reporting suspicious activities to prevent security threats.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Abia State Command, has raised concern over the growing rate of route violations, warning motorists against driving against traffic on major roads across the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sector Commander, Corps Commander Ngozi Ezeoma, condemned the trend, saying some drivers deliberately flout traffic rules by claiming that official turning points are too far, thereby putting lives at risk.
She described driving against traffic as a serious offence that often leads to head-on collisions, avoidable crashes, loss of lives, and destruction of property.
Ezeoma stressed that road designs, including designated turning points, are put in place to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, and must be strictly obeyed.
She warned that offenders would be arrested and sanctioned under the National Road Traffic Regulations.
The FRSC also said it has intensified patrols and enforcement operations across key roads in Abia State to curb the increasing violations.
