The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, Chief Dan Orbih, has expressed support for Governor Monday Okpebholo, praising his development efforts in Edo State just one month into office. Orbih’s statement came on the same day the Edo State Governorship Election Tribunal began its hearings in Benin City on the petition filed by the PDP challenging the election of Governor Okpebholo in the September 21 governorship election.

Orbih stated, “You have started well, and our prayer is for you to finish well. For over three weeks, you have shown your commitment to the people of Edo State.”

He also shared his decision to attend the event, saying, “For over four years, I avoided such events, but with you as Governor, I see something new and will stand with you because you have good intentions for Edo.”

In related news, the PDP also congratulated the people of Ghana for their role in defending democracy in their December 7, 2024 presidential election, which saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Mahama returned to power. The PDP pointed to this victory as a symbol of the people’s triumph over misrule, drawing a parallel to Nigeria’s current political climate under the All Progressives Congress (APC). The party voiced confidence that Nigerians would end APC’s governance in 2027, restoring good governance, security, and economic prosperity through the PDP.
