German outlet BILD reported that the 23-year-old picked up the injury during Nigeria’s 2-1 loss to Rwanda in Uyo, where he featured for 87 minutes. Boniface has since missed training sessions, raising concerns about his availability for Bayer Leverkusen’s upcoming matches.

This marks another fitness setback for the forward, who previously endured months of recovery from an adductor surgery last season. Boniface’s absence is a blow to Leverkusen, as he has been in stellar form, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions this season.
