The company expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his approval and support. According to Seplat, the consent was communicated by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The statement read: “Seplat Energy Plc is pleased to confirm that the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has conveyed the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s consent to proceed with the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) (the ‘Transaction’).”

Seplat thanked President Tinubu for his approval and acknowledged the efforts of various ministries and regulators involved in the process.
