Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, made the call during the inaugural Lam Adesina Annual Lecture in Ibadan on Monday.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including former Ekiti State governors Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senators Teslim Folarin and Abdulfatai Buhari, APC State Chairman Alhaji Olayide Abas, and various other political and traditional leaders.

Adelabu highlighted the significance of honoring the memory of the late Governor Lam Adesina, who served between 1999 and 2003, by uniting the party’s leadership to secure a victory in the 2027 elections.

He said, “Lam Adesina upheld democratic ideals that are foundational to our system of governance. In his honor, it is crucial that we, the Progressives in Oyo State, come together as one. We must unite to win back the state in 2027.”

The APC lost Oyo State to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in both the 2019 and 2023 general elections. To honor Adesina’s legacy, the minister urged the party to forge a united front for the upcoming battle.

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who spoke through Senator Shuaib Salisu, also emphasized the need for Nigerians to rediscover a value system that promotes greater civic responsibility.
