Shocking School Shooting in Georgia: Father Arrested in Connection with Tragic Incident....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Georgia state officials have arrested Colin Gray, a 54-year-old man, following a devastating school shooting that occurred on Wednesday. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left nine others injured at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.

Authorities from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced that Colin Gray knowingly allowed his 14-year-old son, Colt Gray, to access the firearm used in the attack. As a result, Colin Gray faces serious charges, including four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children.

GBI Director Chris Hosey addressed the media, explaining that the charges stem directly from Colin Gray’s decision to permit his son to possess the weapon. The implications of this decision have raised concerns regarding parental accountability in cases of school shootings.

Colt Gray, the 14-year-old suspected shooter, has also been charged with four counts of felony murder and is set to be tried as an adult. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday morning via video before a Georgia Superior Court judge in Barrow County.

Investigators have reported that Colt allegedly used a semiautomatic rifle, described as an “AR platform style weapon,” during the shooting, which resulted in the deaths of two teachers and two students. The circumstances surrounding how Colt acquired the firearm remain unclear at this time.

Authorities have yet to disclose the motive behind this tragic incident, which marks the first campus mass shooting of the school year in the United States. The event has reignited national discussions on gun control and has elicited widespread grief across the nation.

The victims of this heart-wrenching incident include two 14-year-old students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, along with teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53. In addition to the fatalities, two teachers and seven students sustained injuries; fortunately, many of the injured have since been discharged from the hospital. Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith has reassured the public that all nine individuals are expected to make a full recovery.

The indictment of Colin Gray could represent a pivotal shift in addressing the alarming trend of school shootings in America. This case parallels a notable incident in April when the parents of a Michigan teen were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for their involvement in their son’s shooting of four classmates, marking a rare instance of parental accountability for a child’s violent actions.

Previously, the Grays had been investigated in May 2023 by officials from a neighboring county due to online threats concerning a potential school shooting made on the gaming social media platform Discord. However, the Grays denied these allegations, and Colin claimed that his hunting guns were securely stored and inaccessible to his son. Jackson County investigators ultimately closed the case, citing insufficient evidence to link the Grays to the threats or to warrant the seizure of their firearms.

FCT Teachers Begin Indefinite Strike Over Demands.

Published

The State Wing Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has ordered all public primary and secondary school teachers in Abuja to commence an indefinite strike from Monday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The union also directed parents and guardians to keep their children at home until further notice, citing unresolved welfare concerns and what it described as government inaction.

This followed a communiqué issued after an emergency SWEC meeting held in Gwagwalada, Abuja, over the weekend and signed by the state leadership of the union.

Teachers were instructed to fully comply with the strike directive and await further instructions from the union leadership, as the industrial action remains in force until their demands are addressed.

According to the communiqué, the strike became necessary after the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum earlier issued to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, which elapsed without a satisfactory response.

The union recalled that although previous interventions led to the suspension of an earlier strike, several key issues affecting teachers’ welfare were still unresolved.

It also expressed concern that a committee set up to address outstanding entitlements submitted its report in August 2025, but the findings have not been made public or implemented.

While acknowledging the payment of the new minimum wage and some salary arrears, the union insisted that major concerns remain unattended.

The NUT further demanded reforms in promotion processes and a review of the 2024 promotion exercise.

After what it described as unsuccessful engagements and expired deadlines, the union declared that all teachers in the FCT will remain on strike indefinitely until their demands are met.
