Tragic Murder of FUNAAB Student Christiana Idowu Sparks Outrage....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
A disturbing incident has emerged from Lagos State involving the tragic murder of Christiana Idowu, a student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Reports indicate that she was kidnapped between Ikorodu and Yaba while on her way to the University of Lagos for her industrial training.
Ibrahim Adeyemi, the president of FUNAAB’s Student Union Government, confirmed the heartbreaking news during a telephone conversation on Thursday. He stated, “The Union can confirm that she was reportedly killed by her abductor. We will be addressing the matter soon.” This confirmation has sent shockwaves through the university community, highlighting the ongoing issue of kidnapping in Nigeria.
Details of the Abduction
According to a family source, Christiana left her home in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu on August 26, heading towards Yaba. After her family lost contact with her, the kidnappers reached out, demanding a ransom of N3 million for her release. Despite their desperate pleas, the family managed to negotiate the ransom down to N350,000, which they paid. Unfortunately, the kidnappers did not honor their part of the agreement, refusing to release Christiana even after receiving the payment.
Investigation and Discovery
As the situation unfolded, a user on social media platform X, known as @letter_to_jack, revealed that intelligence operatives were able to track the kidnappers through the bank account details used for the ransom payment. The tweet explained that investigations began on August 26, and by August 29, confirmation was received from the bank regarding the details linked to the account used by the abductor.
The user further stated, “Further investigation revealed that he was able to withdraw the sum of N100,000 from the betting account before agents got the betting company to lock the account.” This information led operatives to a location in Ikorodu, where they uncovered a relationship between the abductor and Christiana, evidenced by their interactions on social media.
Lack of Family Response
Efforts to reach Christiana’s family for comment have been unsuccessful. Calls and messages made to family sources went unanswered as of the time of this report. Additionally, attempts to contact the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, have also been met with silence, raising concerns about the investigation’s progress.
