Wizkid and Asake are among Nigeria’s leading artists in the streaming era, known for their massive influence and fan base. Jazzy explained, “At Mavin Records, we’ve shifted our release schedule from the traditional Friday to Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fridays are now too crowded with other big drops.”
He elaborated, “If we have a release scheduled for a Friday and Wizkid or Asake is also dropping music that day, we’ll reschedule. You don’t want your release to get overshadowed or ‘die a natural death.’”
Mavin Records boasts a roster of notable talents including Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Johnny Drille, and Lifesize Teddy.

The conflict began when Erigga took to the social media platform X to salute musicians who achieved success without generational wealth, stating, “Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn.”
Davido took issue with the post, firing back with a heated retort. He argued that artists born into wealthy families who still put in the work to reach the top of the industry also deserve respect, and that having financial advantages does not negate an individual’s personal effort.
