According to a statement by LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the incident took place at No 13, Wilson Mba Street, Arowojobe Estate, early Thursday morning. The three deceased individuals, all male, were identified as site workers.

The agency received a distress call about the collapsed building at approximately 3:49 a.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of LASEMA’s response team to the site by 3:58 a.m. Upon arrival, they found that a set of three terraces under construction had collapsed. Search and rescue operations commenced immediately.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu reported that three adult males were recovered dead, two were rescued alive, and one trapped under the rubble was successfully rescued. The combined efforts of LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire Service facilitated the rescue mission.

“All six men were site workers. They are receiving pre-hospital care on location while the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit has been contacted for the remains of the three fatalities,” Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu stated.

A combined team of LASEMA personnel, fire service, and Nigeria Police are currently at the scene. LASEMA’s excavator has been deployed to expedite the search and rescue operations.
