In his statement, he emphasized, “OBIDIENT IS NOT LABOUR PARTY – I REMAIN OBIDIENT. MY RESIGNATION FROM LABOUR PARTY.” He further explained that the accusations from the Aniocha South Local Government Labour Party Executive have tarnished his reputation, making it necessary to step down to protect his integrity.
He acknowledged the support he received from key figures within the party and expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi for inspiring him to enter politics. Despite his resignation, Gwamnishu reiterated his commitment to the values of the Obidient movement and wished the Labour Party continued success in its future endeavors.

While urging him to face his fate and stop crying foul, the commenters ruled out any possible intervention from the president.
