Woman Arrested For Stabbing Partner To Death Over Internet Fraud Proceeds
Henry Okoye, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), disclosed this on Monday while parading the suspect. The incident reportedly stemmed from the deceased’s refusal to share part of an alleged internet fraud deal, amounting to 250 million Rupiah, with the suspect.
“The suspect confessed to the crime, admitting that her lover lured her into internet fraud, commonly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’. A heated argument ensued on Thursday over his failure to give her a cut of the 250 million Rupiah they had fraudulently obtained from a victim in Indonesia, during which she used a kitchen knife to stab him in the upper part of his body,” the Imo State Police Command revealed.
In an attempt to cover up her crime, the suspect wrote a note that read, “You think you can eat my money and go free. I am baba for the boys. I am coming for your wife, your child, and your family,” and placed it on the victim’s lifeless body before fleeing the scene.
The suspect also revealed that she had been living with the victim since 2019 and they have a child together.
The Police are currently making efforts to recover the alleged 250 million Rupiah for potential return to its rightful owner.
