In a statement, Mefor emphasized, “Our attention has been drawn to the video currently in circulation showing the criminal and rogue Nigerian military personnel engaging in the mass execution of Igbo youths in the South-East. This despicable act is both alarming and condemnable, shedding light on the grave injustices occurring in the region.”

He further condemned the reported killing of Nigerian military personnel in the South-East on May 30, 2024, Biafra Remembrance Day, allegedly by rogue elements claiming affiliation with the Biafra army.

Mefor questioned the Nigerian army’s response to these incidents and urged immediate cessation of unlawful acts against the civilian Igbo population.

The IBN demanded that South-East political representatives take legal action against the Nigerian state and armed forces responsible for the alleged crimes. They called for the involvement of the International Criminal Court, citing the situation as a crime against humanity.

The statement concluded with a plea for unity among Igbo leaders to address the escalating situation and seek justice for the victims.
