Governor Makinde Affirms Olakulehin’s Enthronement As Olubadan

While addressing attendees at a burial ceremony for Oba Balogun, Governor Makinde expressed acceptance of the Olubadan-in-Council’s recommendation. However, he emphasized that Olakulehin would ascend the throne only when he is physically robust enough to undergo the necessary coronation rituals.
Makinde highlighted legislative amendments made to the Chieftaincy Laws of Oyo State, allowing governors to modify the Declaration of Obas without consulting the Council of Chiefs. He underscored the importance of due process in Olakulehin’s eventual enthronement.
The governor’s remarks affirm the commitment to upholding tradition and ensuring a seamless transition within the traditional leadership structure of Ibadanland.
