A circulated message via WhatsApp on Sunday and Monday claimed that a group of bandits, led by Ardo, a sub-commander under the notorious bandit leader Boderi Yellow mai One Million, were moving from Kweri Forest in Kagarko, Kaduna State, towards Gauraka/Kubwa Hills in the FCT.

According to the message, the bandits were allegedly planning an incursion into the FCT, prompted by the escape of a captive named Inusa Lawal, who disclosed details of their camp and their intent.

Reacting to these reports, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that CP Igweh appreciates the public’s vigilance and urged continued cooperation with law enforcement.

“The FCT Police Command acknowledges recent social media reports regarding the potential entry of suspected bandits into the Federal Capital Territory,” Adeh said.

“In response, CP Igweh assures residents that necessary measures have been taken to ensure public safety. He urges residents to carry on with their daily activities without fear, as the command is fully equipped and committed to safeguarding all citizens and preempting any potential threats within the capital city.”

The security alert also called for heightened patrols in and around the Bwari Area Council, with specific focus on areas like Kubwa, Zuba, and Mpape, where potential targets were identified.

The FCT Police Command reassures residents of its dedication to maintaining peace and security and encourages the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

  • Failure to Act: Ibe claims the government failed in its responsibilities regarding the death, which occurred at the Uburu residence of Works Minister David Umahi.

  • Forensic Concerns: He questioned the absence of a state-conducted autopsy, stating that without one, it is impossible to determine the cause of death or identify potential foul play, negligence, or torture.
