Remo Stars defender Sodiq Ismail has committed to delivering his best performance for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as he gears up for his international debut. The other NPFL player selected is Enyimba goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke, who was part of the Super Eagles squad that finished second in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Finidi’s decision to include Sodiq Ismail in the squad is a testament to the defender’s impressive form this season.
The 23-year-old has been a standout player for Remo Stars, providing 12 assists in 30 league matches. His contributions have helped Remo Stars secure the third spot on the league table with 56 points from 36 games, trailing first-placed Enugu Rangers by four points.
Expressing his excitement on social media, Sodiq Ismail shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to represent Nigeria.
