During an emergency meeting held in Kano, the National Chairman of the group, Sani Muhamud Darma, emphasized that Bayero’s actions contradict the traditions of the Emirate Council. He reminded Bayero that his predecessor, who now holds the seat, had vacated it without causing any turmoil, accepting his fate gracefully and moving far from Kano.
Darma urged Bayero to emulate the conduct of his siblings, particularly his brother, the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, who quietly left Kano without disrupting peace. He highlighted that other Emirs also vacated their thrones respectfully, which demonstrates their love for Kano and commitment to its stability.
“We are totally against the ill-advised actions of the dethroned Emir Aminu Ado Bayero,” Darma stated. “We strongly advise him to relocate immediately. If he has any grievances about what happened, he should address them appropriately from another location, but not Kano.”
Darma pointed out that Kano’s current peace, despite its volatility, indicates broad acceptance of Emir Sanusi. He warned that Bayero’s current actions suggest a personal agenda that could jeopardize the city’s peace and stability.
“For this, we are advising Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero not to pursue actions that could plunge Kano into chaos. His actions right now show that he is prioritizing personal desires over the peace and stability of Kano,” he concluded.
