An online publication on Sunday alleged that Oyebanji’s trip to the United States was frivolous, as he had not returned despite initially traveling for a four-day event. The report further claimed that the trip involved 20 people in the Governor’s entourage and consumed $500,000 in taxpayers’ money.

However, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser (Media), Yinka Oyebode, the Governor dismissed these allegations as false.

Oyebode clarified that the Governor did not have 20 persons accompanying him on the trip, emphasizing that the figures reported online were fabricated by the publishers and sponsors of the allegation.

The statement affirmed the state government’s resilience against blackmail, reaffirming Oyebanji’s commitment to the administration’s shared prosperity agenda. It asserted that unfounded accusations and sponsored stories could not deter the Governor from his objectives.

“We urge well-meaning citizens of the state and Nigerians in general to disregard the dubious publication, which is bereft of substance,” Oyebode added.

“As a responsible government, we also consider it appropriate to re-state here that Governor Oyebanji followed due protocols in embarking on the trip, which was well publicized.

“He has not exceeded the time allocated for the trip. He has not derailed from the purpose of the trip, and he will be back in the country this week after the outlined tasks.

“It is important to place on record that Biodun Oyebanji remains focused on the all-round development of Ekiti State through effective implementation of his six-pillar development agenda.”

APC Fires Back at Adeleke Over ₦300bn LG Funds Allegation, Blames Governor for Salary Crisis....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke that local government officials under the party diverted about ₦300 billion meant for workers’ salaries.

Adeleke had made the allegation during a stakeholders’ meeting, accusing APC-controlled council officials of hijacking funds and forcing the state government to shoulder salary payments for local government workers, teachers, health staff, and pensioners for over a year.

He insisted he would not abandon workers, blaming the situation for delays in executing some state projects.

But in a statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the claims, accusing the governor of misleading the public and shifting blame.

The party alleged that Adeleke was responsible for the salary issues, claiming he refused to release electronic payment vouchers and other financial documents needed for processing payments.

APC also said pension-related records, leave bonuses, cooperative deductions, and other financial data had not been made available despite repeated appeals, insisting that funds were properly accounted for and available for use if approved.

The party urged pensioners and workers to seek clarification, insisting the situation could be resolved if the governor allowed due process to take place.
