The students, residing in a rented apartment in Matuna community on the outskirts of the town, fell victim to the bandits’ brazen attack. Although the assailants initially targeted residents in the area, they ended up seizing the students instead.
The Provost of the College, Hamisu Yelwa, confirmed the incident, expressing the school authorities’ concerted efforts, in collaboration with security agencies, to ascertain the full details of the abduction. Security measures have been intensified both within the school premises and the surrounding community in response to the alarming development.
This latest act of banditry underscores the pervasive threat posed by criminal elements in Zamfara State and the urgent need for enhanced security measures to safeguard the lives and property of residents, particularly students vulnerable to such attacks. As efforts continue to secure the safe release of the abducted students, the community remains on edge, grappling with the unsettling reality of insecurity plaguing the region.
