.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
-
An IED blast allegedly planted by ISWAP fighters in Borno State reportedly killed eight Nigerian soldiers when their military convoy struck the explosive.
-
-
The attack happened on Thursday as troops from the 24 Task Force Brigade in Dikwa returned from Maiduguri after escorting logistics and food supplies, with the leading gun truck triggering the device.
-
Official confirmation regarding the names and ranks of the fallen soldiers was still pending when the report was filed.
-
This tragic event builds on a pattern of roadside bombings in the region, following a June incident where three soldiers died on the Marte–Dikwa road and an April 2025 ambush in the Dikwa axis that claimed at least four lives.
-
Security experts note that insurgents are increasingly pivoting toward roadside explosives instead of direct clashes, targeting vital supply and transport routes connecting Maiduguri, Dikwa, Bama, and nearby areas.

“I AM SHOCKED!” Kenneth Okonkwo Blasts Gov Otti Over Alleged Collusion With APC.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Okonkwo criticized the Abia State Structure for Signage and Advertising Agency (ABSSAA) for imposing heavy levies of ₦200 million for presidential candidates and ₦150 million for governorship candidates to display campaign structures. He argued that multiplying such steep advertising costs across all 36 states and the FCT amounts to a deliberate attempt by the ruling party to suffocate the opposition and undermine Nigerian democracy.
Expressing utter dismay over the situation, Okonkwo stated his shock that Abia State Governor Alex Otti would allow his administration to be used to implement what he termed an “APC agenda” designed to price opposition parties out of the political campaign space.
