UK-based Blogger Adeyinka Denies Evading Police Invitation Amidst Wanted Declaration
Dorcas Adeyinka, a Nigerian blogger residing in the United Kingdom, has refuted claims that she disregarded a police summons regarding allegations of cyber-stalking and abduction. The Nigeria Police Force recently declared Adeyinka wanted in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin, citing accusations including injurious falsehood, threat to life, and extortion.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Responding through her legal representative, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Adeyinka contested the assertion that she failed to comply with the police invitation before being labeled as wanted. Olajengbesi emphasized that his client had consistently cooperated with law enforcement, particularly concerning the allegations in question.

The lawyer criticized the police’s decision to issue a ‘derogatory’ declaration against Adeyinka, asserting that the allegations stemmed from a social media dispute involving specific individuals. He highlighted his client’s law-abiding nature and expressed surprise at the level of attention the allegations received from law enforcement.

Olajengbesi outlined the sequence of events, including Adeyinka’s previous encounter with unfounded charges, which were subsequently dismissed by the court due to lack of evidence. Despite being summoned for questioning by the Inspector General of Police’s Monitoring Unit in Abuja, no substantive evidence was found against her, and she was granted bail.

The lawyer clarified that Adeyinka had informed the police of her schedule and indicated her willingness to cooperate, suggesting that the declaration of her being wanted was either a result of misinformation within the police force or unauthorized access to official channels.

Despite the challenges, Adeyinka remains committed to legal procedures and has initiated contact with appropriate channels to arrange compliance with the investigative process. Olajengbesi expressed confidence in the judiciary’s ability to uphold justice and fairness for all parties involved.
