Governor Of Kaduna Issues Stern Warning To Promoters Of Conflict “Live In Peace Or Leave”Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has issued a stern warning to individuals promoting conflict within the state, vowing to mete out punishment to those responsible for instigating violence. Governor Sani emphasized the importance of leaders actively advocating for peace and unity among their followers. He commended the collaborative efforts of both the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and CAN in fostering peace and unity within the state. Reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling promises made during his election campaign, the governor underscored Kaduna’s significance as a vital hub in northern Nigeria.
“I am committed to supporting clerics by providing vehicles to reach all parts of the state effectively to spread messages of peace and unity,” Governor Sani stated.
The newly appointed Kaduna CAN chairman, Rev Celeb Maaji, lauded the governor for his achievements within his first year in office, citing his historic attendance at a Christmas carol event as a testament to his exemplary leadership. He assured the governor of the Christian community’s support for his administration and called for the reintroduction of Christian activities such as the pilgrim’s board and Bible quiz competition in the state.

The Federal Government has issued an urgent flood warning through the National Flood Early Warning Systems Centre, cautioning that 915 communities spread across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) face severe flooding risks from August 27 to September 9, 2026. According to Usman Abdullahi Bokani, Director of the Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, this impending threat is driven by factors such as continuous rainfall, saturated soils, rapid surface runoff, strained drainage networks, and swelling river levels. Residents in these vulnerable areas have been strongly advised to ready themselves for potential emergencies and identify secure evacuation routes.
African Action Congress (AAC) 2027 presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has cautioned citizens against falling for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s stance on reversing the fuel subsidy. In response via an X post, Sowore rejected Atiku’s remarks, asserting that the AAC remains the sole political party that has steadfastly opposed the subsidy removal from the outset.
