George asserted that PDP lawmakers who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have forfeited their seats and lack the authority to threaten Governor Fubara’s position. He warned against external forces manipulating the crisis and called for a concerted effort to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.

Drawing parallels to historical precedents like ‘Operation Wetie,’ which led to the demise of the First Republic in 1966, George underscored the gravity of the situation. He urged the PDP’s Board of Trustees to act decisively and quell the crisis before it engulfs the nation.

In a plea for restraint and unity across party lines, George implored all stakeholders to prioritize the nation’s collective interests over partisan agendas. He cautioned against issuing provocative statements that could further escalate tensions in Rivers State, emphasizing that any threat to democracy must be swiftly addressed to safeguard the nation’s stability.
