A video uploaded by the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate showcased his dancing prowess to the viral tune by South African sensations Titom and Yuppe. This smash hit has gained such widespread popularity that if you haven’t heard or grooved to it, you’re metaphorically ‘sleeping on a bicycle.’

Olumide Akpata captioned the video on his official social media pages, stating: “What do you get when my team practically drags me kicking and screaming in front of a camera? A whole lot of awkward posing and cheesy grins! 😄 They begged and pleaded for me to do this photoshoot…..”

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the former NBA President has trended due to his dance moves or playful demeanor. Weeks ago, he became a topic of discussion after footage of his steps to the popular song “Hola Hola” surfaced on the internet.

These viral clips, capturing the playful and unexpected side of Akpata, are evidence that he’s not just about offering fresh ideas in governance or upholding the law. They also reveal his ability to connect with people, lead with humility, and discover new talent in young individuals!

Just as a good dance requires rhythm, timing, and adaptability, effective governance demands a leader who can harmonize diverse interests, navigate complex challenges, and pivot when necessary. Akpata’s willingness to let loose and have fun shows he’s not afraid to be human, and that humility can serve him well in building trust and fostering inclusive decision-making—essential qualities for a successful governor!

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
