Governor Alia Commits To Supporting Educators

Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has pledged ongoing support to teachers, promising to ensure they receive adequate and timely motivation through various means such as emoluments, workshops, and training sessions. Governor Alia made this commitment during the commissioning of projects completed within the first 100 days of Dr. Grace Adagba’s tenure as chairperson of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Furthermore, Governor Alia announced plans to renovate and furnish selected public schools across Benue State, with a focus on creating conducive learning environments for students. He also expressed his administration’s readiness to strengthen school supervision to enhance service delivery.
During the project commissioning ceremony held at the SUBEB Headquarters in Makurdi, Governor Alia commended Dr. Grace Adagba and her team for their commendable achievements in a short period. He assured continued support to attract further development to the education sector in Benue State.
In addition, Governor Alia approved the construction of a multi-storey building at the SUBEB Headquarters to address the issue of office accommodation. He also instructed the immediate installation of a 33KV transformer at the board’s premises.
Dr. Grace Adagba expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for his unwavering support, which facilitated the accomplishment of various projects. She highlighted achievements such as the automation of the staff payroll system, infrastructure improvements, and the enhancement of administrative facilities.
Representatives from the Universal Basic Education Commission, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, and a pupil from Holy Ghost Primary School, Makurdi, also contributed to the event with their remarks.
