IPOB Calls For Accountability From EEDC Regarding Power Supply In Southeast....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have demanded transparency and reliability from the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), urging them to ensure consistent electricity provision in the Southeast region. IPOB has accused the EEDC of engaging in fraudulent practices, including excessive billing and the use of estimated billing systems.

In a statement issued by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, the group expressed its determination to take action if the situation does not improve. They emphasized their commitment to holding EEDC accountable for its actions and ensuring that the region receives adequate power supply.

The statement highlighted various grievances against EEDC, such as the imposition of exorbitant bills on consumers without corresponding electricity provision, as well as the failure to install prepaid electricity meters. Additionally, IPOB raised concerns about communities being charged for power supply despite investing in their own transformers and cables.

Furthermore, IPOB criticized EEDC for its alleged neglect of communities waiting for transformer repairs and maintenance, leading to prolonged outages. The group condemned what they perceive as exploitation of the people of the Southeast through inadequate power supply and unjust billing practices.

IPOB issued a stern warning to EEDC, stating that if the situation does not improve, they will take decisive action, including shutting down EEDC offices in the Southeast. The group reiterated its call for uninterrupted electricity supply in the region and urged EEDC to either meet their demands or exit the area to make way for more reliable providers.
