The Nigerian Military School (NMS) Old Boys forum mourns the passing of Colonel Hassan Stan-Labo (Rtd.), a renowned security consultant and defense strategist. The sad news was confirmed by Air Commodore Sani Zakari (Rtd.), marking a significant loss within the military community.

Col. Stan-Labo, a highly esteemed figure in military and security realms, served as a short-service officer following his training at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He was a distinguished member of the 1979 NMS Boy set, recognized for his strategic prowess and contributions to national security.

In a statement shared on the forum’s platform, it was expressed, “Regrettably, the passing of Col. Hassan Stanislous-Labo has been announced on the NMS Ex Boys forum.

“He retired from the Nigerian Army with the rank of Colonel. He was a prominent figure on television screens.

“Stan was an alumnus of the 1979 NMS Boy set and a short-service officer trained at the NDA. He retired from the Nigerian Army with the rank of Colonel.

“He was well-known for his appearances on television, often discussing national security matters with deep emotion.

“Col. Hassan Stan-Labo was a seasoned veteran with extensive combat operational experience, serving in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Western Darfur, and the Bakassi Peninsula.

“He was also the initiator of ‘FIX NIGERIA NOW!’

“Reportedly, Labo, a native of Kachia LGA of Kaduna State, passed away suddenly at his residence in Lagos on Monday, April 15, 2024.

“Hassan was a twin, and he leaves behind a twin brother. He was married and had children.

“At present, there is no information available regarding the funeral arrangements, pending a decision by the family.”
