Omobayo expressed his astonishment at his appointment during a dialogue with Governor Obaseki, who explained that God was behind the decision to appoint him. According to Omobayo, Governor Obaseki highlighted the historical significance of having someone from the Akoko-Edo area serve in this capacity, which motivated his selection.

Reflecting on his appointment after his inauguration in Benin City, Omobayo shared Governor Obaseki’s words: “I looked through my history books and discovered that Akoko-Edo has never served in this capacity. I talked to a few key leaders from Akoko-Edo, across party lines, and all fingers pointed at you. The ultimate decision, however, came from God, and I could not say no.”

Omobayo emphasized the significance of his appointment for the people of Akoko-Edo, acknowledging the weight of responsibility that came with it. He cited biblical passages, particularly from Romans and Psalms, to underscore the belief in divine intervention and promotion.

In Romans 9:15-16, Omobayo referenced God’s words to Moses about showing mercy and compassion as a reflection of divine will. He also cited Psalm 75:6-7, which highlights the Lord as the ultimate judge who promotes and elevates individuals.

With his appointment viewed through a lens of divine intervention, Omobayo expressed his commitment to fulfilling his duties as deputy governor and serving the people of Edo State.

Benue Carnage: Peter Obi Outshines Every Nigerian Politician In Pure Courage, Says Aisha Yesufu

on

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has lauded the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as the most courageous politician in the country. Her comments come in the wake of an incident on Tuesday where Obi’s convoy was intercepted by youths on the Gboko-Makurdi road while en route to Yelwata, Benue State, to visit victims of recent violence.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The incident has sparked discussion, with some questioning why Obi did not continue with the planned visit. However, in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Yesufu firmly stated that the decision to halt the journey was a strategic move, not a sign of fear.

Yesufu defended Obi’s actions, emphasizing his track record of visiting volatile regions. She asserted, “I have said this many times, there is no politician in Nigeria that is as courageous as Mr Peter Gregory Obi.”

To illustrate her point, she contrasted Obi’s itinerary with that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming Tinubu had previously avoided visiting the same Yelwata area due to poor road conditions. Yesufu further suggested that even the Commander-in-Chief had faced difficulty entering Jos, while Obi had previously visited Benue.

“Mr Peter Obi has been to Benue before, this time he was going to that same Yelwata but you need to understand something, there is a place where someone has to be strategic. You have a lot of things to do, so if you are fighting people who don’t have work, it doesn’t make any sense at that moment,” she explained.

Why 2027 Election Will Be Easier For Peter Obi Than 2023 – Aisha Yesufu.

Published

on

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that the 2027 presidential election will be significantly easier for her party’s candidate, Peter Obi, than the 2023 contest. In 2023, Obi, running on the Labour Party platform, finished third with 6.1 million votes, trailing Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and the winner, President Bola Tinubu (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Yesufu argued that the extensive groundwork laid by the ‘Obidients’ support base in 2023 has paved the way for a smoother path to victory in 2027. She credited the 2023 campaign with demonstrating the viability of a “new Nigeria” and noted that Obi now enjoys nationwide recognition.

Yesufu also highlighted the strategic alliance between the Obidient movement and the Kwankwasiyya movement, which she believes will bolster the NDC’s chances. This alliance includes former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, whom she identifies as Peter Obi’s running mate, bringing substantial support to the ticket.

Furthermore, Yesufu contended that the prevailing economic hardship in Nigeria will be a decisive factor in the 2027 election. She suggested that the widespread suffering has made Nigerians realize that religious considerations, such as the current Muslim-Muslim ticket, are irrelevant in the face of economic survival.
