Acknowledging the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recent increase in the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) to curb inflation and stabilize the naira, Oyintiloye observed that the policy adjustments are starting to benefit the economy, particularly evidenced by the appreciation of the naira against the dollar in both official and parallel markets. He emphasized that this appreciation offers relief to Nigerians and fosters economic growth, making Nigeria more attractive to foreign investors and helping to stabilize prices.

Oyintiloye expressed optimism that the tough economic decisions made by President Tinubu would yield significant long-term benefits for Nigerians, affirming that the Renewed Agenda would be fulfilled, and Nigerians would ultimately reap the rewards. He stressed the importance of reducing dependence on imports to accelerate Nigeria’s development, urging a focus on domestic production to drive economic growth and job creation.

Commending the Central Bank of Nigeria for clearing the $7 billion Forex backlog, Oyintiloye highlighted the positive impact this action would have on stabilizing the exchange rate. He called on Nigerians to remain patient with Tinubu’s administration, assuring them that the country’s economic situation would continue to improve under his leadership.

Five senior public officials—including directors in the offices of the Accountant-General and Head of Service, and staff from the Budget Office and Ministry of Budget—have been identified as having facilitated Adeyemi’s access to government processes. The NPF has recommended the prosecution of these officials, subject to legal counsel, alongside the interrogation of 22 other individuals connected to the case.
