Lawyer Ejimakor Urges Tinubu Not To Inherit Nnamdi Kanu’s Case
Lawyer Ejimakor Urges Tinubu Not To Inherit Nnamdi Kanu’s Case....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Aloy Ejimakor, the Lead Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has advised President Bola Tinubu against taking on the case of the agitator……READ ALSO
Ejimakor urged Tinubu to thoroughly examine Kanu’s case to ascertain if it has political motivations.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday, Ejimakor expressed optimism that Kanu might find freedom under Tinubu’s administration.
He also assured that Kanu would not flee bail if granted by the Abuja Federal High Court.
“We have reached a point where the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu should reassess this case to determine its merit or if it’s politically driven to the extent that the current administration should not continue with it,” Ejimakor said.
“When someone expresses a desire to no longer be part of a country, it’s not appropriate to pursue them with force, prosecute, or imprison them. Instead, dialogue should be pursued, which is a more sensible approach than law enforcement, which won’t solve the issue.
“I wonder if this case is a lingering problem from the past government. It began during the previous administration, and we don’t know if it was a personal feud between the former government and Kanu.
“Policies of the previous government are not necessarily those of Tinubu’s. So, we are hopeful that Kanu will regain his freedom. During a recent court session, we argued for his bail application. The judge questioned if he would comply with bail conditions if granted. I responded that he would because it was Buhari and his Army that drove him out of Nigeria, and I don’t believe Tinubu and his administration would do the same.
“This suggests that I believe this administration should handle the case differently than the previous one did.
“Under this administration, we’ve seen Sunday Igboho walk free. It was the previous government that pursued him to Benin Republic, and he returned peacefully, expressing himself as a free citizen under Tinubu.
“We also have the high-profile case of Sowore. He was imprisoned in Nigeria for five years, and now his case has been dropped by the Attorney General.
“So, sometimes, one wonders what makes Kanu’s case unique? We don’t want to succumb to certain sentiments, but people are starting to question whether Kanu’s origins are part of the problem.”

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.
Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
-
Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.
-
Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.
Frank Tietie’s Position
-
During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.
-
Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.
-
He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.
-
Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
