Speaking at the inaugural Igbaruku Day held in Igbaruku-Okeri, Yagba West Local Council, Kogi State, over the weekend, the Senator emphasized that Tinubu’s administration has been grappling with severe economic hurdles since the onset of the Fourth Republic.
Karimi commended the Tinubu-led government for its dedication to revitalizing the economy and transitioning it into a robust and self-reliant entity. He stressed the importance of a collaborative approach between the government and the populace in achieving economic recovery, urging citizens to demonstrate patriotism and commitment to community and national development.
The Senator highlighted that active citizen participation would significantly contribute to addressing the economic challenges faced by the current administration in the short term. He remarked, “The Tinubu government inherited a particularly dire situation. Tinubu assumed office amidst an average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 1.8 percent. Preceding his administration, the four-year average inflation rate stood at 15.1 percent. Despite these hurdles, the Tinubu administration remains steadfast in its efforts to devise solutions to these problems.”
