The Nigeria Customs Service, Tincan Island Chapter, has reported a significant seizure of firearms and psychotropic substances from January to date. Customs Area Controller, Dera Nnadi, revealed that a total of 11 rifles and six pump action guns were seized, along with psychotropic substances, in collaboration with sister agencies such as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)……..CONTINUE READING
Nnadi emphasized that these seizures were made from containers, highlighting the effectiveness of joint operations in combating illicit activities. The interception of psychotropic substances underscores the Customs’ commitment to curbing drug trafficking and abuse, working hand in hand with the NDLEA.
In addition to the seizure, Nnadi also provided insights into the command’s revenue performance, indicating a notable achievement in surpassing the revenue target for the first two months of the year. With a revenue generation of N240 billion, exceeding the monthly target of N94 billion, the Tincan Island Chapter has demonstrated remarkable fiscal performance.

Despite failing to secure the APC ticket after participating in its primary, and his subsequent exclusion from the electoral commission’s roster, the former IGP’s camp maintains he is firmly in the contest. Abdullahi Yammani, the Director General of Adamu’s Gubernatorial Campaign Organisation, stated in Lafia that following extensive consultations across Nasarawa’s 13 local government areas, Adamu resigned from the APC and completed an online registration with the SDP. Yammani emphasized that the former police chief aims to leverage his background in security and governance to address the state’s challenges.
With Musa Adamu Angbazo currently listed as the SDP candidate instead, controversy has naturally emerged. However, Yammani remains optimistic that the issue will be ironed out, maintaining that they possess documentation backing Adamu’s registration and candidacy with the party.
