The assembly, which served the impeachment notice, granted the Deputy Governor seven days to respond to the allegations against him.
In response to the development, members of the Edo State Security Networks (ESSN), armed with firearms, assumed positions at the front and vicinity of the assembly.
According to a staff member who spoke with NivoNews, the presence of ESSN members aims to prevent any potential attack or intrusion by suspected hoodlums.
In recent days, stringent security measures have been implemented at the assembly, with staff and vehicles subjected to thorough screening by security personnel. Access to the premises has been restricted to individuals with proper identification, as those without identity cards have been denied entry.
Personnel from both the Edo State Security Network and the House of Assembly are stationed at the entrance gate to enforce the strict entrance protocols.
Additionally, a civil defense vehicle previously stationed near the National Museum, directly opposite the House of Assembly, was observed leaving its position.

“Bleed The Barons Dry! NDLEA Gets Marching Orders To Seize Cartel Wealth”.
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), has stressed the need for a aggressive financial crackdown on drug syndicates, emphasizing that crippling their wealth is vital to dismantling the illegal drug trade. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday at an asset-recovery and financial investigation training program, Marwa noted that conventional arrests and drug seizures alone are insufficient because cartels easily bounce back if their financial assets and backers remain untouched.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Highlighting that drug trafficking functions primarily as a profit-driven enterprise, Marwa called for investigators to trace financial pipelines alongside standard operations to catch financiers, launderers, and facilitators. He cautioned that modern criminal networks increasingly rely on advanced technology—including cryptocurrencies, complex corporate layering, and legitimate business fronts—to obscure illicit funds. Consequently, he urged personnel to upgrade their digital and cross-border investigative capabilities to disrupt operations and strip traffickers of their ill-gotten wealth.
Marwa further pointed out that the drug trade deeply intersects with other organised crimes like corruption, cybercrime, human trafficking, and illegal arms dealing, making inter-agency synergy with bodies like the EFCC, ICPC, and NFIU crucial. He also warned against asset mismanagement, stressing absolute transparency during seizure and forfeiture processes. The event also featured remarks from Federal High Court Chief Judge Justice John Tsoho—represented by Justice Inyang Ekwo—who commended the NDLEA’s leadership and echoed the necessity of advanced judicial and law enforcement cooperation to combat evolving financial and cyber-enabled narcotics crimes.

Describing the loss as an immense shock, the FCT Minister remarked that he remains uncertain if he will ever fully recover from it.
Tributes have continued to pour in, with the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressing deep grief over the exit of one of its most influential leaders. In a joint statement issued by the state chairman, Nosa M. POLITICAL BLOCKBUSTER! Ononuju Spills The Untold Secrets Of Why Peter Obi Fled The ADC!.
Political analyst Katch Ononuju has shed light on the strategic calculations behind former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi’s decision to temporarily align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and his subsequent departure from the platform. Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI TV, Ononuju recounted the private discussions he shared with Obi prior to the political move, noting that he had initially advised the former presidential candidate against entering the opposition coalition. According to Ononuju, Obi justified the alignment by asserting that remaining outside established political structures would severely hinder his ability to negotiate for power, firmly believing that he needed to step inside the room to actively engage with the political establishment.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Despite Obi’s rationale, Ononuju opted against participating in the arrangement, choosing to remain outside the coalition alongside several other political actors who also distanced themselves from the move. Ononuju elaborated on the dynamics of the departure, recalling Obi’s perspective: “When Peter Obi said, ‘I don’t like you going to ADC,’ what he told me in Enugu is, ‘Look, the people said I can’t negotiate for power staying outside the room. I need to go into the room to go and negotiate with power.’” Ultimately, when internal obstacles made further progress impossible within the party, Obi publicly announced his exit, a decision Ononuju characterized as a natural and inevitable reaction to a dead-end political environment.
