According to sources at Bureau De Change (BDC), on Wednesday, 6th March 2024, the exchange rate for a dollar to naira at the Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market) was as follows:
- Buying Rate: N1600
- Selling Rate: N1610
Please be aware that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not officially recognize the parallel market (black market). The CBN has directed individuals seeking to engage in Forex transactions to approach their respective banks.
Additionally, it’s essential to note that the rates for buying or selling forex may differ from those mentioned in this article due to market fluctuations.
CBN Slashes FX Duty Rates
In other news, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reduced the exchange rate used to calculate import duties by 5.3%.
This adjustment was observed on the official trade portal of the Nigeria Customs Service. The new rate for calculating customs duties stands at N1,544.081 per dollar, indicating a 5.3% decrease compared to the previous rate of N1,630.159 per dollar used on Friday.
This reduction follows a period of relative stability in the exchange rate between the Naira and the United States dollar.
