Speaking at a meeting with Ondo PDP stakeholders at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, Makinde emphasized the importance of unity within the party’s ranks, acknowledging the challenges faced during the 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.
Makinde underscored the necessity for the PDP to remain cohesive and determined in its quest for victory, emphasizing that success in the forthcoming election would not be easily attained.
He stated, “We have learnt from the last governorship election. Actually, you learn more when you fail than when you succeed. So, we learned bitter lessons.”
Asserting the need for solidarity and resolve, Makinde affirmed, “If, in the past four years ago, we had that division within us that allowed the seat to slip away from us. At this time, we are united and we will stay united all the way to the election.”
While acknowledging internal disagreements, Makinde emphasized the imperative of focusing on the collective goal of securing victory, with a commitment to resolving internal issues post-election.
He concluded optimistically, “So, by God’s grace, we shall be successful in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
