Naija News reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and His Highness, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, presided over the signing of landmark agreements between Nigeria and Qatar, aiming to bolster bilateral relations.
During his visit to Qatar, Tinubu assured the global business community of Nigeria’s eagerness to engage in substantial economic ventures, pledging to take decisive measures against entrenched interests that undermine investor confidence in the country.
Speaking at the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha on Sunday, the President reiterated his commitment to eliminating barriers to profitable and lawful businesses in Nigeria.
Tinubu stated, “To Qatar’s captains of industry, I urge you to report any government official who demands a bribe or any form of inducement at any point in your business endeavor. I assure you of direct access to the President’s Office.
“I am here to assure you that reforms are underway; disregard whatever you may have heard in the past. Whatever obstacles or problems some of you may have encountered are now a thing of the past because there will be no obstacles in the future.
“Do not offer bribes to any of our officials, and if bribes are requested or taken from you, report it to us. You will have access to me. Nigeria will no longer be defined by its past but by our present actions and future aspirations.
“Do not allow perceptions to hinder your investment aspirations. Nigeria is committed to revolutionizing investment promotion. We are dismantling barriers today, and we will continue to eliminate all obstacles.
“We have achieved significant progress in just nine months. I assure you, there will be unhindered entry and exit. Your funds will flow seamlessly into and out of our country. Bring your investments.”
