This action comes in the wake of recent law enforcement announcements indicating that Gift Okpara, the reputed leader of the Iceland cult, was eliminated during a security operation in Idu-Ekpeye community, Ahoada East. However, reports suggested that some of his followers seized his corpse and fled the scene.
According to a police source who preferred anonymity, operatives conducted a midnight operation on Thursday, apprehending several loyalists of the deceased cult leader. These individuals cooperated with the police, guiding them to a secluded forest where Okpara’s body had been buried.
“The operation took place at midnight on Thursday, and his body was exhumed and taken to town,” the source revealed.
Furthermore, it has been learned that the state police command has organized a media briefing scheduled for 11 am today. During this briefing, details regarding the recovery of the late 2Baba’s body will be officially disclosed to journalists.
