Since Angbashim’s death, the police have been relentlessly pursuing Okpara, with constant operations targeting his hideouts. In a recent joint security raid in Idu-Ekpeye community, Ahoada East LGA, intelligence reports confirmed Okpara’s demise. During the raid, a human skull, assorted rifles, explosives, charms, and other items were recovered from his hideout.
Despite a fierce gun battle during the raid, Okpara and his gang members managed to escape initially. However, intelligence later confirmed Okpara’s death after he lost consciousness and resuscitation attempts failed.
Efforts are underway to retrieve Okpara’s body, and investigations into the activities of the Iceland cult in the region will continue. The Rivers State Police Command reassured the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, pledging to employ all necessary resources and strategies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
The recovery of numerous weapons and charms from Okpara’s camp has brought relief to residents in the Ahoada area, who had been terrorized by the cult leader’s activities.
