Across the state’s three geopolitical zones, voices are rising in support of a candidate selection process that prioritizes merit, capability, and integrity over narrow tribal sentiments or regional agendas. Respondents from Edo North, Edo Central, and Edo South have echoed this sentiment, underscoring the importance of choosing a candidate with the vision and capacity to lead the state forward, irrespective of ethnic or geographical affiliations.
One respondent from Edo North, Mr. Ahmed Abdullahi, emphasized the need for the Labour Party to rise above tribal considerations and focus on selecting a candidate who can effectively address the pressing issues facing the state. “We need a leader who can unite us all and drive development across the entire state,” he remarked.
Similarly, Mrs. Chioma Okoye from Edo Central stressed the importance of integrity and competence in governance. “Our state deserves a leader who is not only honest and principled but also capable of delivering tangible results for the people,” she stated.
From Edo South, Mr. Segun Idemudia echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for the Labour Party to present a candidate who can inspire confidence and trust among voters. “We need a leader who can bring about positive change and restore faith in our political system,” he asserted.
