In a stunning revelation, it has come to light that Odoh Eric Ocheme, Adamu Abubakar, and Imam Abubakar are purportedly linked to a scheme involving the counterfeit of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s signature, aimed at unlawfully obtaining a staggering sum of $6.2 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The discovery was made by a specialized investigative team assigned to probe a significant fraud case within the CBN. Following this revelation, a formal request has been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) urging the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice for the apprehension of the three individuals.

According to a letter signed by DCP Eloho Okpoziakpo, the Head of Operations at the Office of the Special Investigator, Odoh Eric Ocheme, an employee of the CBN, along with accomplices Adamu Abubakar and Imam Abubakar, are currently evading authorities and are wanted for their alleged involvement in the fabrication of documents using the former Nigerian leader’s name to siphon off approximately $6,230,000 from the CBN’s coffers.

The trio, who are now on the run, have been hit with six counts of charges at the Federal High Court, Abuja, including accusations of engaging in fraudulent activities to swindle funds from the CBN under false pretenses.

Their alleged offenses are detailed in one of the charges, which highlights their purported actions to deceive CBN officials into releasing funds by falsely representing themselves as authorized representatives with the approval of the President, thereby committing a serious breach of the law.

This development underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice for their alleged involvement in this audacious financial scam.
