In response, the Federal Government, represented by Minister of Information & National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, criticized the PDP governors for what it deemed as playing to the gallery. The government accused many PDP-led states of mismanaging increased federal allocations, resulting in unpaid salaries and pensions, and a lack of investment in agriculture.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party (LP) sided with the PDP, affirming that the APC administration has worsened Nigeria’s economy. These developments unfolded as the PDP appointed Senator Adolphus Wabara as chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT) and Senator Ahmed Makarfi as secretary, pledging to address internal challenges and provide robust opposition to prevent what they allege as the APC’s attempt to establish a one-party state.

Acting National Chairman of the PDP Board, Senator Adolphus Wagbara, emphasized the crucial role of the party in safeguarding Nigeria’s democracy, urging unity and action among party members.
