African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dino Melaye has cautioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against taking any steps to invite, arrest, or question the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. This warning follows a call by Ntufam Hilliard Eta, a former APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), urging anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute Atiku over corruption allegations. Responding via his X handle, Melaye stated that if Atiku faces any frivolous arrest or invitation, the ADC will demonstrate to the Federal Government that the populace vastly outnumbers those currently in power.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Taking to his official platform on the handle, Melaye asserted that should Atiku face any arrest or invitation stemming from what he termed frivolous corruption petitions, the ADC would demonstrate to the Federal Government that the general populace vastly outnumbers those currently holding political office. He emphasized that those within the government represent less than one percent of the entire population of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and declared that the party would prove that power truly belongs to the people.

In response to these developments, Atiku Abubakar strongly condemned the calls for an EFCC investigation, dismissing them as nothing more than a politically motivated witch-hunt. Through a statement issued by his media aide, Paul Ibe, the former vice president pointed out that he was previously subjected to thorough investigations during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, during which no evidence was ever found to warrant prosecution. Atiku further remarked that whenever an incumbent government senses a political threat, state institutions suddenly redirect their intense focus toward political opponents, citing this latest move to subject him to EFCC scrutiny as a prime example.
