Reflecting on the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Senator Uba Sani as the elected governor of Kaduna State, Hyat expressed surprise at the outcome, citing a departure from expectations. He questioned the court’s handling of election disputes amidst widespread public concerns about the electoral process.
Despite reservations about recent judicial decisions, Hyat emphasized the importance of a robust and independent judiciary for upholding justice in a democratic society, expressing hope for improvement.
Regarding electoral disputes, Hyat supported the expedited resolution of such matters before the inauguration of elected officials, citing historical precedents for swift resolution to reduce distractions.
Shifting focus to security challenges in Kaduna State, Hyat highlighted the need for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to address insecurity, citing his experience as the former secretary to the state government.
Addressing economic hardships faced by Nigerians, Hyat criticized the government’s economic policies, lamenting the lack of tangible benefits for ordinary citizens.
