This move follows the governor’s recent selection of Mr. Olaide Adelami, a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, as the deputy governor of the state. The decision came shortly after the governor’s decision to dismiss all commissioners and special advisers on Wednesday.
The statement detailing the nominees reads as follows: “The nominees are Mrs. Omowumi Isaac; Mr. Olukayode A. Ajulo, SAN; Razaq Obe, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan; Akinwumi Sowore and Mr. Oseni Oyeniyi.”
In addition to the commissioner-nominees, the governor has appointed individuals to the role of Special Advisers, including Olugbenga Omole as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mrs. Olamide Falana as Special Adviser on Gender Affairs, and Mr. Alabi Johnson as Special Adviser on Energy.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa assumed the position of governor following the untimely passing of the late governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who succumbed to prostate cancer at the age of 67 in Germany in December 2023.
