The decision to conduct air strikes in Kaduna followed a strategic intelligence report pinpointing the movement of the terrorist syndicate within the Kwiga-Kampamin Doka axis of the Birnin Gwari LGA. The eliminated terrorists were identified as those responsible for the recent troop ambush at Kwanan Mutuwa, along with multiple attacks and abductions of innocent civilians in the region.

According to Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information, the air strikes aimed to eradicate the terrorism and kidnapping menace in the North-West and North Central regions of Nigeria. The intelligence gathered indicated that the terrorist syndicate was moving along the specified axis.

Upon reaching the suspected location, troops observed two armed terrorists on 15 motorcycles. A precision strike was swiftly executed, resulting in the elimination of the armed individuals and revealing the aftermath of significant casualties among the terrorist group.

Gabkwet stated, “The aftermath of the air strike revealed that several of the terrorists were eliminated as a result of the strike.”

It is noteworthy that the Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna has been grappling with insecurity, with bandits carrying out killings and abductions among the local residents.

In a separate operation in Katsina, security operatives successfully rescued 35 individuals who had been kidnapped from Tashar Nagulle and Nahuta communities in the Batsari Local Government Area. The victims were held captive within the Dumburu forest by bandits.
