Emphasizing Tinubu’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians, Usman stressed the President’s determination to hold ministers accountable for their performance.

The warning was delivered during the opening of a technical retreat for delivery desk officers of federal ministries in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State. Usman urged the delivery officers and directors of planning in attendance to exhibit total commitment to their responsibilities, highlighting their role as the engine room for providing feedback, tracking ministerial progress, and reporting challenges to the central coordinating and delivery unit.

Usman outlined the specific areas of assessment, stating, “We will be assessing FAAN on customer experience at the airports; are the escalators, lifts, and conveyor belts functional? What are the consequences of delayed time of departure for airlines? These are things that everybody can feel and see.” She stressed that ministers would be evaluated based on tangible outcomes, such as improvements in agriculture, with a focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fertilizer use per hectare.

In a previous announcement, Usman mentioned that all ministers would be required to sign a performance bond with Tinubu, outlining the expectations for 2024. The bond is intended to serve as a tool for tracking each minister’s performance against specific KPIs throughout the year.

Yakubu Gowon University (formerly University of Abuja) has graduated 17,300 students at its combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies held on Saturday at the main campus.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The university also conferred honorary Doctorate Degrees on Paul Odili, Founder and CEO of Paulo Group of Companies; Prof. Yusuf Ali, SAN; and Emmanuel Issa, in recognition of their contributions to society.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Hakeem Fawehinmi, said the honourees were selected based on their character, achievements, and commitment to excellence.

The Vice Chancellor also reminded the graduates to uphold the reputation of the institution wherever they go.

Fawehinmi disclosed that the 29th convocation covered the 2022/2023 academic session, while the 30th covered 2023/2024, with thousands graduating across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
