January 19 Marked For Tobi Amusan’s Continued Legal Battle Details
World-record holder in hurdling, Tobi Amusan, is scheduled to appear before the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal on January 19, as reported by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU)….CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The AIU and the World Anti-Doping Agency have appealed the Disciplinary Tribunal’s previous decision, which had cleared Tobi Amusan of doping charges.
In July 2022, Amusan achieved a world record in the women’s 100-meter hurdles event at the World Championships in Oregon, clocking 12.12 seconds in the semi-final. While she won gold in the final with a time of 12.06 seconds, it was deemed a wind-assisted finish, preventing it from breaking the initial record.
Recalling the AIU’s actions, Amusan was brought before the Tribunal on September 15, 2023, for violating anti-doping regulations, resulting in her temporary suspension after failing three consecutive tests. However, an appeals body overturned the suspension, allowing her to participate in the previous year’s world championships, where she finished sixth.
In a statement, the AIU announced, “The charge will be heard by the Disciplinary Tribunal and determined before the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on January 19.”
The proceedings will not be open to the public but will be conducted in person, via video conference, or a combination of both methods.
While Amusan maintains her innocence, she will have to substantiate her claims during the tribunal proceedings.
