In response, Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello announced significant appointments to fill the vacant positions.

Alhaji Salihu Seidu, popularly known as SAS, was appointed to replace the deposed Ohimege, and he is set to be turbaned promptly to prevent a leadership vacuum.

Furthermore, Alhaji Ahmed Anaje, formerly the Ohi of Okenwen, was appointed as the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

The governor made these announcements following a meeting with the state executive committee.

Governor Bello outlined the decisions, including the removal and deposition of the traditional rulers, emphasizing adherence to traditional and chieftaincy laws.

The affected rulers, namely Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfe, Olu Magongo of Magongo, and Obobanyi of Emani, were to be deposed to locations in Niger State.

The governor also addressed the reversion of the title “Obobanyi of Ihima” due to ongoing litigation, leading to the deposition of the present occupant. Additionally, the Onu-Ife in Omala Local Government received an indefinite suspension.

Governor Bello intervened in the selection controversies surrounding certain stools, resulting in new appointments to fill key positions. Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir was appointed as the Maigari of Lokoja, and Alhaji Dauda Isah became the Maiyaki of Kupa.

The appointment of Mallam Saidu Akawo Salihu as the new Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfe was based on the selection decision endorsed by the Lokoja/Kogi Local Government Area Traditional Council.

Finally, in recognition of a high court judgment from 1998, a new stool was created – the Ohi of Uhuodo. This decision grants full recognition to Ododo as a legitimate child of Ita’azi, the father of Ebira land, and Uhuodo as a distinct district in Ebira land with equal rights.

The processes for the occupation of the new stool, Ohi of Uhuodo, are set to commence immediately.

‘I Wrote My Will At 30’ – Chude Jideonwo Reveals Why He Doesn’t Want Children.

Published

Media personality Chude Jideonwo has opened up about the personal reflections that influenced some of the most significant decisions in his life, including his choice not to have children.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Chude, an only child, disclosed that keeping a journal helped him understand himself better, confront his fears and gain clarity about what he wanted from life.

The media personality made the revelation during an appearance on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, where he explained that he began journaling extensively in 2015.

According to him, he used the process to reflect on his desires, relationships, insecurities and deepest fears. He also considered the worst possible outcomes of the things he feared and how he could prepare for them.

One of the major decisions that emerged from these reflections was writing his will at a relatively young age.

Chude explained that he was around 30 or 31 years old when he began considering what would happen to his responsibilities if he died, particularly his obligations to his mother and the non-governmental organisation he supports.

He said, “So in 2015, I journaled like a mad person. What do I love? Who do I love? How do I like to be loved? What am I insecure about? You know, I wrote down, what am I afraid of? I wrote down the six things I’m afraid of. And I thought, what is the worst that will happen if these things happen?

“I wrote my will in 2015 or 2016, when I was 30, 31. Because I’m like, when I talk about what’s the worst that will happen if I die? And I thought, okay, I need to take care of my mother. I need to take care of the NGO that I contribute to.”

The media personality also reflected on his professional ambitions, noting that although he deeply loves RED, public relations is not something he wants to do every day.

He added that journaling prompted him to question whether marriage and parenthood were part of the future he wanted for himself.

According to Chude, it was during this period of self-examination that he realised he did not want to have children, describing the discovery as a significant personal realisation, particularly given that he is an only child and deeply loves his mother.

He said, “I love RED from the bottom of my heart, but PR is not what I want to do every day. So I wrote down, who do I want to get married to? Do I want to get married? That’s when I realized that I didn’t want to have children. It’s a big thing to realize as a human being. Yeah. To realize as an only child. Of a mother that I love dearly, and who I want to do everything for.”

2027 Presidency: Alake Unveils Tinubu’s Hidden Strategy Behind 12-State Campaign Plan.

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Alake, has explained that President Bola Tinubu’s decision to campaign physically in only 12 states ahead of the 2027 general elections was a strategic move.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Alake said the President was determined not to neglect his official responsibilities in order to campaign across the country.

He argued that the 12 states selected for the campaign were strategically important and could play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the election.

Alake maintained that Tinubu should be commended for prioritising governance while making arrangements for his re-election campaign.

He also criticised sections of the media for portraying the President’s decision negatively, insisting that the limited number of campaign stops had nothing to do with his stamina or capacity.

According to Alake, Tinubu’s responsibilities as a sitting president make it difficult for him to tour every part of the country, unlike in 2023, when he contested the presidency without holding the office.

He said, “The President said categorically at the inauguration of the campaign council a few days ago that we should excuse him, that he is not going to abandon governance for campaigning.

“The President has a lot on his plate; honestly, I sympathise with him most times when I’m with him, the weight, the enormity. And I admire him a lot because of his resilience; his stamina is unparalleled.”

Alake explained that Tinubu had more flexibility during the 2023 presidential election because he was not yet the country’s leader.

He added, “Asiwaju was not a sitting president in 2023, so he could afford the time to go to every corner of the nation, but when you are a sitting president with so much work to do, no, you cannot.

“And what has he done? He has chosen some zonal pivotal states to visit. And if you are to do a serious empirical verification of those zones and states, you will find out that those places he’s chosen to go are actually election deciders.

“So there is no issue there at all, he should be commended for that. He is not going to abandon governance for campaigning.”

Alake’s remarks come as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections, with the party balancing its campaign activities against Tinubu’s responsibilities as President.

‘Nobody Is Perfect, I Am Not A Saint’ – Peter Obi Speaks Out.

Published

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has declared that although he is not a saint, he accomplished what he believes no other governor in Nigeria has achieved during his tenure.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Obi made the statement during a town hall meeting with his supporters in the United Kingdom, where he urged Nigerians to elect leaders with proven records of performance ahead of the 2027 general election.

The former Anambra State governor expressed concern over the increasing economic hardship in the country, insisting that Nigerians should prioritise productivity and competence when choosing their next president.

He also appealed to Nigerians living abroad to encourage their relatives back home, particularly those who depend on them financially, to support candidates with credible records of performance.

Obi said, “You have people at home in Nigeria today who are begging you for money. Tell them no! Let’s put somebody who has proven to be productive.”

Highlighting his record in office, the former governor said he left savings behind after completing his tenure, describing it as evidence of responsible leadership and prudent management of public resources.

He added that Nigeria’s journey towards meaningful change could begin with the election of leaders who are less corrupt.

“I’m not saying I’m a saint, but I saved money. No governor has done it. Let’s start with this one that is less corrupt. That’s how other countries change,” Obi stated.

The NDC presidential candidate reiterated his call for a new Nigeria founded on accountability, the fight against corruption and the emergence of competent leaders capable of addressing the country’s challenges.

According to him, the country needs leaders with the capacity, character, compassion and commitment to unite Nigerians, improve security and shift the economy from consumption to production.

“Enough of all this. We need to achieve our collective purpose of building a New Nigeria that works for all, which is centred on tackling corruption and electing competent leaders with capacity, character, compassion and commitment to unite, secure, and move the nation from consumption to production,” Obi said.
