Professor Anthony Okorie Ani has been screened by the APC Committee from the National Secretariat as the primary election candidate. Only two aspirants, Princess Ann Agom-Eze and Prof. Ani, purchased forms for the primary.
Smart Iheazor, the Chairman of the screening/special congress committee, revealed that only Ani completed and returned his form, participating in Thursday’s screening. Princess Ann Agom-Eze, on the other hand, neither returned her form nor attended the screening.
“I am the Chairman of the screening/special congress committee of Ebonyi State bye-election for the Ebonyi South senatorial seat,” said Iheazor. “Two persons purchased forms, and out of the two, only one person returned the completed forms.”
“The second person did not return her forms and also did not show up for the screening despite radio and other media announcements to that effect,” he added. “So, we were able to successfully screen one person; Professor Anthony Okorie Ani, and he was also duly cleared to run for the seat of Ebonyi South Senatorial District.”

2027: ‘I Will Defeat Gov. AbdulRazaq Before 1pm’ – Kwara Senator, Mustapha
Saliu Mustapha, the senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, has expressed strong optimism regarding his bid to unseat Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the upcoming contest for the district’s Senate seat.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Mustapha recently transitioned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerging as the party’s standard-bearer for the senatorial race. He attributed his exit from the ruling party to inadequate consultation and the governor’s mismanagement of political interests within the APC fold.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Mustapha addressed whether he could defeat the incumbent governor in a direct contest for the senatorial ticket, asserting that his victory would be decided early in the process. He stated that he expected to secure a definitive lead early in the day, emphasizing the high level of public interest the race would attract.
Additionally, Mustapha noted that former Senate President Bukola Saraki is reportedly backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, despite maintaining his leadership role within the Kwara State PDP. According to Mustapha, Saraki is aligned with the coalition supporting the administration, drawing a parallel to other political figures who maintain dual alignment across party and governmental lines.
